Tom Knudson got his start in journalism in 1980 working for the Des Moines Register. Since then, he has worked for the New York Times and the Sacramento Bee. Over the years, he has focused on in-depth and investigative reporting about the environment and is the recipient of numerous journalistic awards, including two Pulitzer prizes, two National Press Club awards, a Reuters-IUCN Global Award for Excellence in Environmental Reporting and an Overseas Press Club of America award.
Born in western Iowa, Tom is a graduate of Iowa State University where he received a B.A. in journalism and mass communications. He lives near Lake Tahoe in California with his wife and daughter.
